Global volunteer movement “Earth Hour” will be held on March 29, 2014. On that day, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm, all decorative lighting will be turned off at the Republic Square in Belgrade, Liberty Square in Novi Sad and in Nis, at Nis on the quay.
The world’s leading movement, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), aims to send a strong message that encourages efficient use of resources, with the desire to reduce the negative impact from mankind on climate change.
The initiative, “Earth Hour,” was developed in 2007 in Sydney, and shortly thereafter in 2009, Serbia joined this event. Last year the campaign was supported by over 2 billion people from 154 countries and over 7000 cities, while in Serbia, 60 cities and municipalities joined, as well as many schools, companies and civil society organisations.
WWF-World Wide Fund for Nature in Serbia kindly asks all citizens to join the action, contribute to, and attend public events in cities across Serbia.
