This year will be marked across the planet under the slogan, “WE CAN STOP HUNGER.”

The United Nations Food and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations) have initiated the marking of October 16 as World Food Day in which the purpose is to remind us every year of the existing global level hunger crisis.

Unfortunately today there are about 842 million hungry people on the planet. That means that 1 in 8 people suffers from chronic hunger or do not have enough food for an active and healthy life.

In Serbia, nearly 800 thousand people live on the brink of absolute poverty, of which over 200 thousand are children living at subsistence level . What is striking is the fact that the number is growing by the day. Hunger is increasing and people are eager for basic nourishment. We came together to launch and show humanity that every person who helps can mean everything to those in need.
